    PEMANTAUAN PENERIMAAN DOSIS EKSTERNA DAN INTERNA DI INSTALASI RADIOMETALURGI TAHUN 2012. Pemantauan penerimaan dosis eksterna dan interna di Instalasi Radiometalurgi tahun 2012 telah dilakukan. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini untuk mengetahui besarnya dosis eksterna dan interna yang diterima pekerja radiasi dihubungkan dengan kegiatan yang pekerja radiasi lakukan selama bekerja di laboratorium. Metoda yang dilakukan untuk mengevaluasi DEST yang diterima pekerja radiasi ini dengan cara menganalisis dosis eksterna yang berasal dari paparan radiasi dan dosis interna dengan cara in-vitro (pemeriksaan urine) dan in-vivo (Whole Body Counter). Ada beberapa personil yang menerima dosis eksterna triwulan 1 sebesar 0,06 mSv/thn, triwulan 3 antara 0,03 sampai dengan 0,10 mSv/thn sedangkan triwulan 2 dan 4 untuk penerimaan dosis eksterna hasil pemantauan ttd (tak terdeteksi). Hasil pemantauan dosis interna untuk triwulan 1 terpantau sebesar 0,01 mSv/thn, triwulan 4 antara 0,02 sampai dengan 0,09 mSv/thn. Untuk pemantauan triwulan 2 dan 3 hasilnya ttd (tak terdeteksi). Selama tahun 2012 penerimaan dosis eksterna dan interna untuk pekerja radiasi tersebut masih dalam kategori aman karena dosis yang diterima oleh pekerja radiasi masih jauh di bawah batas dosis yang diizinkan. Sesuai dengan Peraturan Kepala Badan Pengawas Tenaga Nuklir No. 4 Tahun 2013 Tentang Proteksi dan Keselamatan Radiasi Dalam Pemanfaatan Tenaga Nuklir dan berdasarkan Laporan Analisis Keselamatan Instalasi Radiometalurgi (LAK IRM), Nilai Batas Dosis yang diijinkan yakni sebesar 50 mSv/thn dan rata-rata 20 mSv dalam 5 tahun

    RNA editing generates cellular subsets with diverse sequence within populations

    RNA editing is a mutational mechanism that specifically alters the nucleotide content in transcribed RNA. However, editing rates vary widely, and could result from equivalent editing amongst individual cells, or represent an average of variable editing within a population. Here we present a hierarchical Bayesian model that quantifies the variance of editing rates at specific sites using RNA-seq data from both single cells, and a cognate bulk sample to distinguish between these two possibilities. The model predicts high variance for specific edited sites in murine macrophages and dendritic cells, findings that we validated experimentally by using targeted amplification of specific editable transcripts from single cells. The model also predicts changes in variance in editing rates for specific sites in dendritic cells during the course of LPS stimulation. Our data demonstrate substantial variance in editing signatures amongst single cells, supporting the notion that RNA editing generates diversity within cellular populations

    Dalam penelitian diperlukan metode, persiapan dan perencanaan yang tepat agar penelitian dapat berjalan sesuai rencana dan tepat sasaran, terlebih penelitian dengan basik pemetaan geologi. Hasil yang diharapkan bahwa yang akan dipetakan nantinya sesuai dengan rencana dan mengurangi timbulnya kesalahan-kesalahan dalam pemetaan. Tahap interpretasi awal atau kerja studio sangat dibutuhkan guna mengetahui kondisi geologi dan menyusun rencana lintasan. Dalam interpretasi menggunakan foto udara. Kajian interpretasi mencangkupinterpretasi pola pengaliran, geomorfologi, stratigrafi dan struktur geologi. Penelitian ini dilakukan di daerah Seloharjo dan Sekitarnya, Kecamatan Kretek, Kabupaten Bantul, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dibagi atas tiga tahap, yaitu tahap akusisi merupakan perolehan data awal yang dipakai sebagai dukungan penelitian ini yaitu kajian pustaka, pemetaan geologi, permecontohan dan kunci foto geologi, tahap analisis merupakan penelaahan dan penguraian atas data hingga menghasilkan simpulan akhir dan tahap sintesa merupakan hasil dari analisis sehingga menjadi kesatuan yangselaras dalam membangun model yang didapatkan. Berdasarkan hasil interpretasi dan pengamatan di lapangan, maka dapat diketahui geologi daerah penelitian. Dalam interpretasi pola pengaliran menghasilkan geomorfologi, stratigrafi dan struktur geologi. Akhirnya hasil interpretasi pola pengaliran dan geomorfologi dikaitkan, sehingga menghasilkan stratigrafi dan struktur geologi di daerah penelitian.Kata-kata Kunci : Geologi, kunci foto, rawa purba, gunung api purba

    Along with the growth of social media, a variety of potential threats to users is also increasing. These kinds of threats often occur because the users accidentally or unknowingly disclose their information or identity on social media. Threats resulted from the disclosure of information are needed to be known so that the users can understand the risks that arise and take precautions. This research was aimed to summarize the potential threats arising from the information disclosure in social media. The research method used was a systematic literature review to explore and summarize the literatures that discuss the specific topic. The research results show that the potential threats are mostly social threats and identity theft

    Research Article Cellulose Acetate Membrane with Improved Perm-selectivity through Modification Dope Composition and Solvent Evaporation for Water Softening

    Abstract: Membrane technology has been developed because applicated on several fields. Hence, in this study carried the production of cellulose acetate nano-filtration membranes for water softening. The main objective of this study was determined the effect of solvent evaporation time and the effect of adding PEG to the morphology and perm-selectivity of asymmetry membrane for water treatment. Membranes prepared by dry/wet phase inversion method with variation of solvent evaporation time of 10-15 sec and addition of 2.5-5 wt% PEG in the dope solution. Membrane characterization consists of calculation of membrane flux and rejection with brackish water as a feed, SEM and FTIR analysis. The research concluded that asymmetric cellulose acetate membrane can be made by dry/wet phase inversion method. The results of FTIR analysis showed the larger absorption peaks indicates that the increasing concentrations of PEG addition make the PEG molecular weight and the unit re-CH 2 -CH 2 O-greater. The results of SEM analysis exhibited that all the membranes are formed has an asymmetric structure consisting of a thin fine porous structure selective barrier and sub-structure of the porous layer is thicker. Moreover, the addition of PEG, the larger pore of membrane will be formed. Performance optimum membrane was obtained on the composition of 23 wt% cellulose acetate, polyethylene-glycol 5 wt%, 72 wt% acetone and 1 wt% of distilled water in the solvent evaporation time of 25 sec and temperature coagulant at room temperature. Characterization of the optimum membrane were flux 22.33 L/m 2 /h/bar, 92% rejection for turbidity, rejection for dissolved solids 85 and 81% rejection for ions Ca 2+ , with modulus young around 12433 N/cm 2 , respectively

    Nano-Stenciled RGD-Gold Patterns That Inhibit Focal Contact Maturation Induce Lamellipodia Formation in Fibroblasts

    Cultured fibroblasts adhere to extracellular substrates by means of cell-matrix adhesions that are assembled in a hierarchical way, thereby gaining in protein complexity and size. Here we asked how restricting the size of cell-matrix adhesions affects cell morphology and behavior. Using a nanostencil technique, culture substrates were patterned with gold squares of a width and spacing between 250 nm and 2 µm. The gold was functionalized with RGD peptide as ligand for cellular integrins, and mouse embryo fibroblasts were plated. Limiting the length of cell-matrix adhesions to 500 nm or less disturbed the maturation of vinculin-positive focal complexes into focal contacts and fibrillar adhesions, as indicated by poor recruitment of α5-integrin. We found that on sub-micrometer patterns, fibroblasts spread extensively, but did not polarize. Instead, they formed excessive numbers of lamellipodia and a fine actin meshwork without stress fibers. Moreover, these cells showed aberrant fibronectin fibrillogenesis, and their speed of directed migration was reduced significantly compared to fibroblasts on 2 µm square patterns. Interference with RhoA/ROCK signaling eliminated the pattern-dependent differences in cell morphology. Our results indicate that manipulating the maturation of cell-matrix adhesions by nanopatterned surfaces allows to influence morphology, actin dynamics, migration and ECM assembly of adhering fibroblasts
